"We'll get together tomorrow and put that in front of the team and go through some of the things we've got to correct," Harsin said. "I felt like the guys' energy was good, the competitive side of things. There were some good things out there and plenty of things we need to work on and get better at in all areas."
Auburn scrimmaged Thursday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in the second half of two-and-a-half-hour practice.
"When you go live, it really doesn't lie," Harsin said. "You get a chance to see who can tackle, who can break tackles. Guys were competing, guys did play hard, guys showed effort. Now it's about how do we clean some of the details up."
Auburn's defense delivered a pair of takeaways, Harsin said.
"Defense gets on it, they're hustling to the ball. I thought that was good to see from the defensive side," he said. "You end up with a really difficult situation with third and a long ways to go and that's hard on the offense. The defense executed and made plays and put the offense in those positions at times."
In the first two weeks of spring practice, sophomore receiver Ja'Varrius Johnson has impressed Harsin.
"He's been one of the more consistent players, day in and day out, as far as his execution and preparation," he said. "Being able to come off the ball and be an explosive player play after play, the great ones who play that position at wide receiver, that's what they do. He's played faster, and he's done it more consistently. He's made some plays in practice."
Auburn will take next week off from practice, then return for two weeks of workouts leading up to A-Day on April 17.
Just because the players won't be practicing, they can still prepare, Harsin said.
"The more that we study, the more that we spend time preparing ourselves, the more that we decided that this is something that I'm going to have to spend not just meeting time but some of my personal time, sacrificing some of that in order to get a little bit better and a little bit ahead and a little bit more prepared, then that's where going to probably see signs of growth," he said.
"Where we can do a little bit more of that leadership that we talked about, that might show up. That's where we are."
