I have a phobia for clutter.
It is something that probably comes from the number of times we moved houses when I was a child. I’m always afraid that when it’s time to move, I will have so much junk that I will have to hire a bigger lorry to carry the stuff...or that I will one day wake up sweating because a mountain of junk is closing in on me.
And so once in a while, I go into panic mode and start to declutter. Most of the time, it gets me in trouble with my housemates – both the little ones and the adults.
“Mooom!”
Whenever I hear that after I have been on one of my sprees, I know I am about to be grilled about something that was a little bit damaged or faded that I gave away, repurposed or threw in the trash.
Yes, I have had a few regrets but most of the time, I find that things that are out of sight are out of mind.
And I know, letting go of things can be difficult especially if they are sentimental or still useful or valuable. But trust me, life is a lot easier when you have fewer things to worry about.

Decluttering, downscaling and downgrading can be so freeing for the mind. Try it at least once a year (and, hello, the end of June is smack in the middle of it!)
Speaking of the end of June, we have come to the close of our reproductive health month but we’re still open for questions, especially those related to infertility (both male and female), PCOS, fibroids and endometriosis.
