The High Point University men's basketball team will play its second straight road contest against a power-five team as HPU faces Notre Dame on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 8:00 PM. The game will air on the ACC Network and will be HPU's first two games already scheduled to air on national television with HPU's clash with Kentucky on the last day of 2021 slated for the SEC Network. The Panthers head to Purcell Pavilion after facing Northwestern in Evanston, IL last Friday night.
Across the Bench
Notre Dame was picked to finish eighth in the ACC preseason poll.
The Fighting Irish are 1-0 so far after an opening win against Cal State Northbridge.
Freshman Blake Wesley led Notre Dame in scoring last time out with 21 points.
Last Time Out
HPU dropped its first road contest of the year to Big Ten opponent Northwestern. John-Michael Wright performed well on a big stage scoring a game-high 23 points on the night. Wright nearly had a double-double as he matched his 23 points with nine assists.

Tubby Smith vs Notre Dame
This marks the first meeting between High Point and Notre Dame ever. However, it is the fifth time a Tubby Smith team has faced the Irish. Coach Smith is 4-0 against Notre Dame all time.
Hot Start against Northwestern
It was a one-point game at halftime against the Wildcats. HPU went up by nine with 12 to go in the first half after stellar shooting from Wright. Wright score nine of HPU's first 19 points.

Double Digits x 2
Wright scored at least twenty points in both games to start the regular season last week. Austin scored 10 points against Northwestern and 20 against Shenandoah.
Mr. Wright Now
John-Michael Wright was named to the Big South Preseason First Team. Wright was highlighted by the NCAA in August as one of the top nine returning scorers in the nation. Wright averaged 20.7 points per game a season ago, which was good for the 17th best scorer in the nation. He assisted on nearly 25% of HPU's baskets when he was in the game a season ago according to Kenpom. Wright was the second-highest scorer in the Big South last season.
Non-Conference Play
High Point will play 14 non-conference games in total, nine of them taking place inside the beautiful Qubein Center in its inaugural season and the other five occurring on the road. Four of the Panthers' five opponents on the road are Power-Five teams.
