NORMAL, Ill. – Indiana State's Lauren Green sits in contention through 36 holes at the Redbird Invitational, while the Sycamores sit tied for 14th overall through the first day at the Weibring Golf Club.
 
The Sycamores battled through a challenging and windy course on the campus of Illinois State University to cap off their first day in the 2020 fall season. Indiana State turned in a first-round 307 (+19) to sit tied for 10th through the first 18 holes of the day. The Sycamores wrapped up the day with a second-round 311 (+23) to finish tied with Western Illinois through Sunday's action.
 
Lauren Green (+2) is currently sitting tied for 10th overall in the field following matching 73s over her two rounds. The 2020 MVC All-Conference athlete birdied the ninth and 12th holes in the first round and added birdies on the ninth and 16th holes in the second round to sit nine strokes back of leader Amelie Svejda (-7) through the first two rounds.
 
Kristen Hobbs (+11) is tied for 53rd overall in the tournament field through the first 36 holes of the day. Hobbs birdied the seventh hole in the second round of the tournament on her way to carding a 78-77 to sit in a six-way tie in the field.
 
Molly Lee (+14) birdied the 13th and 15th holes in the first round and added a birdie on the 18th hole in the second round to highlight her day on the course. The Kaohsiung, Taiwan native turned in a two-round score of 80-78 to sit tied for 66th in the field.
 
Chelsea Morrow (+15) sits one stroke back of her teammate in a tie for 71st in the field. Morrow turned in a trio of birdies in the opening round going under par on the third, sixth, and 18th holes on her way to a first-round 76. She followed up with a birdie on the seventh hole in round two to highlight her 83.
 
Iyoun Chew (+24) sits 87th in the field with her day highlighted by a birdie on the 18th in her second round.

• Indiana State sits ninth in the team standings with a par-3 scoring average of 3.38.
• The Sycamores turned in the 11th-most pars on the opening day with 94.
• Lauren Green tied for the third-lowest individual score on par-4s on the day at 3.90 (-2)
