After being announced last month, Final Fantasy XVI has received a slew of new info detailing protagonists, the world, and summons.
A new teaser website has launched for the long running RPG’s latest installment, and with it comes a good amount of new info on what players should expect to see when Final Fantasy XVI launches for PlayStation 5. Taking place in a world called Valisthea, Mothercrystals tower over the land blessing the world with aether. This aether allows the realms to thrive, and have had a number of wars fought over them.
Not a lot is known about the actual plot of Final Fantasy XVI yet, but we do have the names of the three known new protagonists: Clive, Joshua, and Jill. These three new characters all have a unique history driving their story, and Joshua is able to harness the power of the Eikons.
These Eikons are Final Fantasy XVI’s summons and there have been four currently revealed: Phoenix, Titan, Shiva, and Ifrit, with more sure to come. The next big reveal for the game is scheduled for next year, and while we don’t know the release date, we wouldn’t expect it any earlier than late 2021 or sometime in 2022, despite how polished gameplay looked in the reveal trailer.
