Students at 23 Madison County School campuses brought relief supplies to school on Friday to donate to people who were devastated by Hurricane Ida.
Donated items include cleaning supplies, non-perishable snacks, paper goods and water.
School officials are asking for people to help load the truck at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the MCS Central Office, 476 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, before the truck departs to take the supplies to the families of Saint John the Baptist Public Schools in hard-hit La Place, Louisiana.
The amount of items collected so far was enough to fill an entire 18-wheeler, organizers said.
