I am writing this letter in the hope that it may help someone else from being used as badly as we were. My husband had planned it all out before we started work on our front lawn on Aug 21.

We knew, as well, as having to hire someone to do the job, we had to pay for some equipment, a Kubota machine to scrape the old sod off the lawn, and have new soil put on before the sod was brought in.
The man we hired for this job was very capable and handled it well.
However, we soon found out the hauler was very unreliable, and in between loads did not come back for hours, leaving my husband and the man using the Kubota machine, waiting, unable to do any work until the hauler returned. The hauler was to start at 10:00 in the morning and didn’t show up until noon, took the first load and then didn’t return for another two hours for the remaining three loads. What should have taken a maximum of three hours took at least five hours. We had to pay for the Kubota machine and operator while waiting for the hauler to return.
The operator called the hauler many times, but he never came as he promised to do. My husband complained to the hauler as well, but it made no difference, and as we were on a time limit to get this done, we had to wait for this man off and on all day.
We paid the hauler the agreed to $375 per load and found out later we could have had it done for $80 to $100 per load.
So, we got scammed and there is nothing we can do about it. However, I hope this letter will warn others, so this won’t happen again.
