SOUTH ORANGE/MAPLEWOOD, NJ — South Orange is reporting 349 positive COVID-19 cases as of yesterday. That means that the Village has had 62 cases in the first 12 days of December.
Maplewood had 611 cases on Dec. 7. The case load increased in only four days by 25 cased to 636 confirmed cases as of Friday, Dec. 11.
“Unfortunately this week we had our 28th death,” Mayor Frank McGehee told TAPinto SOMA by email today; the person was 84 years old. “It was our first death of the fall due to COVID-19,” wrote McGehee. He also as of the middle of last week, 359 of all cases in Maplewood were recovered.
