STONY BROOK, N.Y. -

The UMass Lowell men's basketball team visits Stony Brook for its first America East series on the road in 2020-21 this weekend.

A WIN WOULD
A win against the Seawolves would give the River Hawks their first win in the series since 2018 and the team's second since joining the America East.

LAST TIME OUT
The River Hawks split a two game series at home against Vermont on Dec. 21-22. Ron Mitchell notched a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds to propel UMass Lowell to a 73-65 victory against preseason favorite Vermont in the team's 2020-21 America East opener on Monday night. The following day, despite leading at the half and getting an 18-point performance from Obadiah Noel, UMass Lowell fell, 62-53, against the Catamounts.

LEADING THE FLOCK
Obadiah Noel, the squad's lone senior, is pacing the River Hawks with 19.5 points per game, and 22 total assists. Connor Withers is controlling the boards with 5.3 rebounds per game. Ron Mitchell chips in with an average of 8.2 points, while newcomer Max Brooks boasts a team-best eight blocks, as well.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL
The River Hawks have been quick to attack this season, scoring first in all six games so far, with the initial bucket coming from Connor Withers in three of those contests.

FROM THE JUMP
After winning the opening tip just 11 times last season, the River Hawks have secured the tap five times in six games so far.

BENCH PRESS(URE)
The River Hawks, who averaged just 12.6 points off the bench last season, are showing off their newfound depth in 2020-21 with 25.8 points per game coming off the bench so far.

SIZE MATTERS
The River Hawks have typically been undersized compared to the competition, but this year's squad combines to make up the team's tallest roster since elevating to Division I by a half inch (77.4 inches). With this height, UMass Lowell is averaging a DI program record 3.3 blocks per game.

SHARP SHOOTERS
The River Hawks, who led the America East in shooting percentage for the last two years, are shooting 43.2 percent from the field this year. The team shot a season-high 52.4% in the win against San Francisco on Nov. 25.

ON A ROLL
Obadiah Noel logged 25 points at Hartford on Feb. 15, 2020 to set the program's longest 10+ point streak at the Division I level. Including the first games this season, he has now scored in double digits for 32 straight games and counting.

SETTLING IN
After averaging just 2.5 points through the first four games this season, Ron Mitchell made a big splash with his third career double-double on a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds against Vermont on Dec. 21. He averaged 19.5 points in that last series.

ONE FOR THE BOOKS
The win against Vermont on Dec. 21 marked the River Hawks' first against the Catamounts since 2015-16 and also gave the squad its first victory in a league opener since 2017.

ROAD WARRIORS
Right now, the River Hawks are scheduled to play an even, 11-11 split of home and away games in 2020-21. At 1-3 away from home this year, the program has now accumulated a 106-154 road record since 2003-04.
