The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, which eliminated them from playoff contention. Here’s a look at who played how much and where in the 37-17 defeat at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Quarterbacks (out of 73 offensive snaps): Jalen Hurts (73), Carson Wentz (DNP), Nate Sudfeld (inactive).
Analysis: Hurts threw for 342 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 69 more yards, but he threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter and lost a fumble down the stretch, too. For the first time in his run as the starting quarterback, he seemed to be pressing. Still, he got the offense off to a quick start that the team couldn’t hang on to.
Running backs: Miles Sanders (57), Boston Scott (8), Jordan Howard (7), Corey Clement (1), Jason Huntley (inactive).
Analysis: Against the NFL’s worst rush defense, Sanders carried 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown. He carried four times for 17 yards after halftime. Scott and Howard combined for five carries for 25 yards.
Wide receivers: Greg Ward (66), Jalen Reagor (43), Alshon Jeffery (26), Travis Fulgham (22), DeSean Jackson (20), Quez Watkins (12), John Hightower (inactive), J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (inactive).
Analysis: Jackson started in his first game since Week 7 and caught an 81-yard touchdown on the second offensive possession, but coach Doug Pederson said the 34-year-old had an injury that got sore over the course of the game and cost him some of his explosiveness. Watkins had a 43-yard catch, while Reagor had three catches for 30 yards in his homecoming.

Tight ends: Zach Ertz (62), Dallas Goedert (41), Caleb Wilson (0), Richard Rodgers (inactive).
Analysis: Goedert left the game in the second half with a calf injury, and he finished with three catches for 38 yards. Ertz tied for the team lead with seven targets, but he finished with three catches for 33 yards.
Offensive line: Jason Kelce (73), Isaac Seumalo (73), Nate Herbig (73), Matt Pryor (73), Jordan Mailata (63), Brett Toth (10), Luke Juriga (0), Ross Pierschbacher (0).
Analysis: Mailata left the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a head injury, so while the Eagles had the same offensive line group in consecutive games for just the second time this year, it didn’t finish the game. Toth saw extended action for the first time this season. The offensive line committed six penalties in this game.

Defensive ends (out of 70 defensive snaps): Brandon Graham (58), Vinny Curry (49), Genard Avery (24), Joe Ostman (9), Derek Barnett (inactive).
Analysis: With Josh Sweat on injured reserve and Derek Barnett inactive, this group was shorthanded, and Curry, who had a sack and three quarterback hits, hadn’t played more than 49 snaps in a game since the 2018 season finale with Tampa Bay. Graham had his eighth sack of the year, while Avery’s 24 snaps were the most he’s ever played with the Eagles.
Defensive tackles: Javon Hargrave (51), Malik Jackson (42), T.Y. McGill (23), Raequan Williams (19), Fletcher Cox (7).
Analysis: Cox left the game in the first quarter, and it seemed to be a bit of a turning point for the defense. Without Cox in the middle, things swung back in the Cowboys’ favor, and the interior defensive line was not as much of a factor as it had been in recent weeks.

Linebackers: Alex Singleton (70), T.J. Edwards (63), Joe Bachie (18), Shaun Bradley (11), Duke Riley (inactive).
Analysis: The Eagles played nickel for most of the game, which meant that Edwards played the most in terms of snaps (63) and percentage (90%) than he ever has in his career. Singleton had a team-high eight tackles, while Bachie got his first real run with the defense since he joined the team before Week 14.
Cornerbacks: Darius Slay (69), Nickell Robey-Coleman (41), Michael Jacquet (40).
Analysis: Robey-Coleman and Jacquet had really rough days, with the Cowboys going after both of them for big plays. Jalen Mills moved from safety to outside corner to replace Jacquet at one point in the game. Slay got his first interception with the Eagles.
Safeties: Jalen Mills (70), Grayland Arnold (42), Marcus Epps (40), K’Von Wallace (19), Rudy Ford (5), Elijah Riley (0).
Analysis: The Eagles cobbled together their secondary in recent week with Arnold, an undrafted free agent, getting the most playing time of his rookie season. Ford played defensive snaps for the first time this season, while as mentioned above, Mills moved to cornerback for a stretch.
Special teams (out of 31 special teams snaps): T.J. Edwards (27), Alex Singleton (20), K’Von Wallace (20), Corey Clement (18), Joe Bachie (18), Joe Ostman (18), Rudy Ford (18), Marcus Epps (13), Elijah Riley (13), Caleb Wilson (13) … Cameron Johnston (8), Rick Lovato (8), Jake Elliott (7).
Analysis: Johnston cleared the concussion protocol to play Sunday, and he had a bad 17-yard punt in the second quarter, but he still put three of his five kicks inside the 20. Elliott hit a 38-yard field goal in the first half. Lovato’s snaps were good this week.
