UNDATED (WKZO AM/FM) – The sudden outage of YouTube, Gmail and Google Drive has caused widespread panic on social media, prompting the hashtag #YouTubeDown to become a globally trending topic within a matter of minutes.
Google’s Workplace Status Dashboard later confirmed every single one of its products was hit by the outage. However, Google’s search engine appeared to keep working through the outage, which began worldwide around 6:55 a.m. EST.
Services began returning on a rolling basis about an hour after the start of the outage.
