NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State seniors Sydney Holt and Stef Jankiewicz were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Both Holt and Jankiewicz, who each received degrees from Illinois State in December, were recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference in March with selections to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team.

Holt finished with an impressive 3.90 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) as an exercise science major. The Wildwood, Missouri, native was a three-time MVC Honor Roll member and had been placed on ISU's AFNI Honor Roll in every possible semester, while maintaining the highest GPA among upperclassmen.

The middle blocker finished her career No. 13 in program history in hitting percentage (.261), after leading the team this past season with a .330 clip. Holt wrapped up her four years as a Redbird with 269 block assists and 301 total blocks to rank 16th and 17th, respectively, in the ISU record book. Additionally, Holt holds the junior by-class record with 144 block assists in 2019, ranking second all-time in a single season in the category.

Jankiewicz, who earned a degree from ISU in criminal justice, finished with a 3.70 cumulative GPA and is a recipient of the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award. She's been placed on the MVC Honor Roll and AFNI Honor Roll multiple semesters and was named a Senior CLASS Award candidate in the spring of 2021.

On the court, Jankiewicz was recognized as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-North Region selection for the third-straight year, as well as the 2020-21 MVC Setter of the Year. She became the first player in league history to earn the distinction twice in her career after receiving the honor in 2018. The Farmington Hills, Michigan, native accumulated 4,851 assists in her four years as a Redbird, which ranks third all-time in ISU program history and 13th in Valley history.

Holt and Jankiewicz will both advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
