MUNCIE, Ind. - - With her initial recruiting class for the Ball State softball program, first-year head coach Lacy Wood and her staff have brought in six standout student-athletes who are poised to make an immediate impact on the program.
In the circle, the Cardinals welcome Jessica Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Trinity), Hannah Mays (Fishers, Ind./Fishers), Angelina Russo (Cardiff, Calif./La Costa Canyon) and Madison Taylor (Fortville, Ind./Mt. Vernon).
Kaitlyn Gibson (Peru, Ill./LaSalle-Peru) will look to help solidify the Ball State infield, while Hoffman could also make an impact in the outfield. McKenna Mulholland (Oviedo, Fla./Lake Howell) and Mays look to be all-around threats in a utility role.
"We are very excited to officially welcome the newest members of the Ball State softball family," Wood said. "As a staff we are thrilled at the strength and depth of this class. From Florida to California and a few places in between, these six young women will come in right away and raise the bar here in Muncie. We have had the opportunity to get to know these athletes over the past couple of months and we are excited not only about what they bring to the program on the field but who they are off the field as well. The future of Ball State Softball is bright."
