You could say the passenger numbers at the La Crosse Regional Airport are still gaining in altitude.
After a 90 per cent drop in passenger load in April, as the pandemic was starting to spread, the airport has now seen four straight months of growth in passenger use.
The August total was 3942 people taking regular flights, a rise of about one-third from July.
It also represents a drop of 61 per cent from the more than 10,000 people who flew through La Crosse in August of 2019, but it’s over 50 per cent of the number from last January (7604), which has been the best month of 2020 for travel.
LSE has been advertising that Delta will resume daily flights between La Crosse and Detroit in October.
