Hempstead, NY – Senior standout Lucy Porter collected another impressive accolade as she was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® First Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Monday.

Porter is now one of just 32 Hofstra student-athletes to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades and is the first First Team selection for a Hofstra student-athlete in any sport since 2013. In addition, Porter is the sixth CoSIDA Academic All-American in Hofstra women's soccer history, joining Chrissy Arnone (Second Team, 2005), Sue Weber (First Team, 2007), Dana Bergstrom (First Team, 2010), Tiffany Yovino (First Team, 2010) and Monique Iannella (Third Team, 2018).

In the classroom, Porter boasts an impressive 3.87 grade point average as a Community Health major with minors in neuroscience and psychology. She is a three-time Provost's List and four-time Dean's List honoree, and she has been named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and Hofstra Athletic Director Scholars Honor roll every semester. In addition, Porter was recently tabbed a First Team United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American for the second-straight year, and this past academic year, Porter earned the Dr. Sylvia J. Giallombardo Award, honoring Hofstra's top female scholar-athlete.

A two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American who became Hofstra's first First Team honoree in program history this past season, finished her 2021 season ranked third all-time at Hofstra in points (91) and goals (41). She racked up 24 points during the shortened 2021 season and ranked third nationally in points per game (2.67) and goals per game (1.11) among players who played in at least three matches in the spring of 2021.

In addition to her United Soccer Coaches All-America honors, Porter was named a Senior CLASS First Team All-American in May. At the conference level, Porter earned the Colonial Athletic Association Leadership and Sport Excellence Award and was named the CAA Midfielder of the Year for the second-straight year.
