Oregon now has 3,228 known cases of the novel coronavirus as of 8 a.m. Sunday.
No new deaths from COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Oregon Health Authority, a rare break that leaves the state’s toll at 127. However, it often takes the state several day to identify or report deaths.
The state reported 60 new confirmed cases on Sunday, as well as eight eight Oregonians presumed to have coronavirus.
The 68 new and presumed cases are in Benton (3), Clackamas (10), Clatsop (1), Deschutes (1), Hood River (1), Marion (14), Multnomah (22), Polk (2), Umatilla (1), Washington (11) and Yamhill (2) counties.
Marion and Washington counties, two of the hardest hit in the state, continue to have high numbers of new cases relative to their size. Both counties have revealed that the Latino communities in both counties make up a disproportionately large percentage of those cases.
Since the first known case was confirmed in late February, 75,450 people have been tested throughout the state. Only Gilliam, Lake and Wheeler counties have detected no positive cases. Wheeler County has only tested 20 people total.
In the past week, between 2,600 and 3,100 people were tested daily. The weekend saw a sharp decline in the number of people tested. About 880 were tested in in a 24-hour period through Sunday morning, and before that, 1,900.

Nationwide, there are almost 1.4 million COVID-19 cases, with more than 80,000 deaths.
