Hello all!
First of all thank you for taking the time to read and wanting to help me out!
Here's my issue:
I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-42 Ac with 16GB RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. Win10 and it works perfectly most of the time.
Sometimes I use a lot of heavy-duty programs simultaneously and the RAM reaches close to 100%.
That's when it starts.
The computer has a freeze, lasting about 1.5s. At the same time, the HDD starts to make that "boot-up" noise that is common when booting up a machine with an HDD. Then the programs resume as if nothing happened.
From then on, even if I reboot my pc, the PC will be slower, more jittery, programs will crash under less load, and this "HDD bootup" thing will happen every now and then. The HDD will also make that defining "working/grinding" sound whenever any load is applied to the system (though not the very light ones, i.e. opening a small program)
It has happened before and seems to go away on its own after a few days - but I don't want to be in the unknown and pray the IT gods to restore my PC to it's real strength!
So I turn to you, fellow mortals - what do you think is the issue? How can it be fixed?
I investigated a bit some time ago and have vague memories of RAM overload and so using HDD as a temporary memory storage space, but it means the HDD must bootup again every time you want to access this info, but can't recall a way to fix this...
Thank you!
Martin
