A 68-year-old Beaver man was hurt when his log truck rolled over on Highway 101 Monday afternoon south of Dowan’s Creek.
The driver was heading north on Highway 101 and near Milepost 182 just before 3 p.m. Sept. 21 when his 1987 Peterbilt truck entered a long sweeping right-hand curve and his log load shifted, sending the truck and trailer onto its side.
The truck landed on the driver’s side of the rig, according to the Washington State Patrol, and the truck lost its entire load of logs.
The highway was completely blocked for 4 hours and 44 minutes, the State Patrol reported.
The man was taken by an aid car to Forks Community Hospital.
The State Patrol said the crash was caused by speeding, and second-degree negligent driving charges are expected.
